UNDETERRED: Unintentional discrimination detected and racism reveal and Deactivate
General objective of the project
The UNDETERRED Project focuses on action research, prioritising the systemic dimension of discrimination. Its aim is to enhance understanding of the rules, procedures and practices that produce racial, ethnic and religious inequalities within the European Union, without institutional intent. The rationale for this approach lies in the fact that these mechanisms represent the main blind spot in the systemic functioning of discrimination.
Justification
The project aims to formalise a descriptive and functional typology of these unintentional mechanisms in order to develop new anti-discrimination designs. These will be tested in the housing, employment, health and higher education sectors, with regard to their accessibility for young migrants and national minorities. In addition, the project seeks to complement a strengthened system of cultural recognition for Roma and Gypsy national minorities in order to reduce the prejudice and stereotypes they experience. Secondarily, INDETERRED also addresses the intentional dimension of systemic discrimination.
