The Faculty of Nador brought together on 18 and 19 May the conference “Inclusive narratives and transformative communication: education and awareness on migration in academic contexts: Nador-Barcelona”, a meeting organised within the framework of the project developed between the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Mohamed First University (Faculty of Nador).
The programme brought together teaching staff, researchers, students and specialists in migration and communication to collectively reflect on the impact of anti-migration narratives, hate speech and inclusive communication strategies in different social and academic contexts.
The opening ceremony was attended by Hassan Arabi, project co-ordinator on behalf of the Mohamed First University, and Ali Azdimoussa, dean of the Faculty of Nador.
During the conference, various academic and training activities took place, including a round table discussion on the production and impact of anti-migration narratives, a film forum focused on inclusive communication strategies, and several specialised workshops on hate speech, media communication and the development of digital skills for audiovisual editing, graphic design and content production.
The meeting established itself as a space for academic exchange between students, teachers and researchers from both contexts, fostering the construction of more inclusive and transformative narratives surrounding migration.
The project remains open to new participants through training and access to the Classroom.
